The fact that many of our people would vote for a person like Obama is a symptom of a serious illness that is pervasive in prosperous, complacent societies (like in your cities). I don't know whether I believe that the Fed should actually be federal and tie money supply to something tangible or index it to growth but letting these pricks print money to stave off repercussions from their poor decision making, etc., is messed up.
Thanks for mostly checking your anti-US prejudices at the door. It is the government, and certain people, that you may want to target with your venom. There are many, many people here that just work hard, take care of our families and want the right thing done. There is an awakening occurring, not unlike the awakening after the attack on Pearl Harbor only this time the attack is from within. Mark, it is not as simple as all that... 1) USA took the role of international currency of exchange for trade and profit. It (USA) made heaps of profit, then greed set in and the manufacturers set up shop in "cheap labour" countries to maximise their own selfish profit margins (exhibiting no loyalty to their country of origin - USA - and the Govt there did nothing as everyone was reaping in huge inflationary derived profits, by borrowing firstly (thirdly? actually but the first 2 were "professional investors") to get on the dotcom bandwagon, that bust then to Fany & Fredy et al for the housing bandwagon which collapsed - predictably which gave rise to toxic debt - a bank re-packaging fraud which also predictably backfired, next will be more mortgage foreclosures as a consequence of resetting of rates, Then asset collapse (paper investments in non-productive US enterprises - Ford etc) as well as treasury notes and bonds as there is no economic activity inside USA to give them any value....

The repairs/fixes made so far, are all domestic (internal USA) pork barreling and "favours returned to buddies" (banks) and really abuse the trust the rest of the world had in the greenback, by wild fluctuations induced by the fixes to gold, silver and exchange rates with all other currencies made by the FED to maintain its own profit and that of corrupt banks who own the FED...

All the while the good citizens were easily kept in the dark because of their blind arrogant faith in god is on our (USA only) side and we are great - got the tense wrong.... and did absolutely nothing to stop the fraud and thievery of the majors and their "rescuer" the FED who is bleeding the US citizens dryer than a thousand vampires, and ensuring the US economy will remain their domain with obedient slaves (you citizens) allowing them to continue to prosper pillage and **** anyone with something of value.... The rest of us in the world cannot vote in the USA and therefore cannot apply pressure on the Congress to clean up the "Wall St" banks etc., - and apply the laws to control this bad behaviour... - - - So I have a position justified where I bag you the citizens for being so damn lazy and complacent... - You the usanians, need to act, and act loudly to force a clean-up or get labelled with the same brush that is behind much of the problems....

That outburst was a simplistic outline of the problems and issues... Dig around and you will be able to glean the facts and sheet home the blame, and it is NOT Obama... only a dumb F@&%# would suggest that... - - 'Money' does not risk making a selection based on 25% or less, of the electorate making a vote to select a person in a controlling and powerful position... - - Ben Bernanke was one of several options from which the President was allowed to choose - put forward by the back-room of the Money controllers Inc..... Ben is the face of the power in the USA.... He who controls the money controls the country...

The US$ will not collapse as too many hold significant stakes to allow that, but as a power that demanded attention, listen to the laughs of derision and disbelief from around the world... As the currency of international exchange, fix things VERY quickly or loose that benefit/perk, That is the issue, plain & simple...

once upon a time it was important to maintain the industrial complex within territorial boundaries
now
with the weaponization of space whats to keep the industrialists from going with the lowest bidder for labor
nothing
and so there is a exodus of jobs to produce enhanced profit overseas concentrating capital even further
it may be at the expense of the local economy but who cares ( or at least who among them ever cared about the locals )
its the cooperate profit that is the bottom line
governments now cater to the corporate tit and politicians depend on its milk
any great surprise that what was once a thriving industrial base is now been sold off to the lowest bidder
and those people sold now slave away at starvation wages for the benefit of who
