I have a San Juan 21 with a constant wear issue on the bow when being trailered. Anyone know a resource to fabricate a bow plat for this hull?

Direction is much appreciated.

The easiest would be to laminate a few layers of mat on the wear area. It can be easily repaired after when necessary.

After repair, determine the cause of the wear. Chances are that the trailer is a bit bendy which jiggles the bow up and down enough to wear against whatever bow chock you are using. Trailers with a single element tongue are bad about doing this. Better to fix the problem at its source than to repeat repairs.

Thanks for the responses.
You are both right.

I have been doing as Gonzo suggests but was hoping to score the bowplate
And be done with it.

Really, the bow plate will be far more trouble than a proper Vee made of rubber mounted on the trailer. Usually, the Vee is mismatched to the trailer because it was set up originally to fit a particular bow and there's no adjustment for the new bow.
Take the boat and trailer to a welder and an hour later the boat will fit the trailer correctly.
