Declining Sea Levels in the Caspian Sea Will Lead to 'Genuine Ecocide,' Scientists Warn
  • The Caspian Sea is the world’s largest lake
  • Since the 1990s, water levels in the Caspian have dropped a few inches every year
  • If emissions continue to rise water levels will fall between 30 and 59 feet by the end of the century
The paper, "The other side of sea level change," was published in Communications Earth & Environment

Aren't sea levels rising your normal AGW wail?

Sea-level rise from climate change could exceed the high-end projections
  • IPPC estimates of sea level rise from melting polar ice sheets by the end of the century ranges from 16" to 24"
  • A new study warns that if global warming continues at the current pace sea level rise will probably surpass those projections
  • Current estimates show little extra melting of Antarctica as temperatures rise -- which is considered problematic
  • Also not adequately included is non-linear increase in sea level
  • During the 1990s the oceans rose at about 2 millimeters per year
  • From 2000 to 2015 the average was 3.2 millimeters per year
  • In the past few years the pace has quickened to 4.8 millimeters per year
The study was published in One Earth

Could? That's an enormous list. Where does your projections fall on the probable list of all the coulds? Above or below a planet buster asteroid strike?

Why do you care? No matter what scientists say, or how much supporting data is presented, you will scoff.

Your (and Hoyt's) life must be very boring for you to spend so much time on this thread pulling opinions out of your keister, but presenting little actual supporting data.

You have some politicized agenda-ed scientists touting your position, but SCIENCE is NOT on your side, as has been pointed out over and over.

You could be a one eyed one horn flying purple people eater.
But I doubt it.

Supporting data:

You make that claim regularly, but with little evidence. On the other hand, almost every day I present scientific evidence to support a countering view.

You complain when scientists make use of words like "could" and "maybe," yet that is exactly what one would expect from honest climate change scientists. No one knows when, if, or how humans will restrict their emissions of CO2 and other greenhouse gasses. Yet if those same scientists were to make very definitive statements, not using "could" and "maybe," you would still howl in protest. That is because your opinions are ideologically driven, not data driven.
