I wasn't far off the mark, those Moose are keeping us fooled about earthquakes, in their talks and motion . . .

Did they and why did they fall out of favor?

They were expensive for their size and so hard to sell, then they lasted for ever so there was no replacement market, then owners needs change over the years due to eg. expanding families or they die, so good second hand boats came on the market, and the manufacturer couldn't compete with that. There are today almost as many as there ever were, the used ones coming for sale from that seems to be enough for what's sellable, and so new can't compete with that and keep a production line going.

I have heard that 3 Gorges Dam is overfull and in danger, which means millions of humans downstream are also at risk. The dam sits on a fault.
If the worst happens I wonder how much silt will be flushed into the sea and how much will form a delta at the mouth of the Yangtze River.

‘‘ Two girls who were missing their cousins during the coronavirus lockdown sailed letters to them on a raft they made out of flax leaves.

Florentina, 5, and Lucette Kitchen, 3, launched the raft from Harbourview Beach in Te Atatu Peninsula in West Auckland, hoping their letters would reach their cousins somehow at Cox's Bay.

The raft made a remarkable 5.7 km journey overnight and landed just 25 metres away from the home of their cousins Alexandra, Amelia and Bianca.

"What are the odds," dad, Chris Kitchen said.

"We had put their cousins' address on it, hoping someone would find it and deliver it to them eventually but it landed so close and they found it. We thought it was going to be long shot." ’’
