Rhino is a great tool, and at a great price. but not for everything. A large, complicated ship, such as a container carrier, needs many calculations that Rhino or Orca can not perform. I know many professionals who use Rhino to create the 3D model of the hull (not the whole ship and its structure) and export it to other CAD programs. On the other hand, as I said earlier, when it comes to creating, faithfully reproducing, the forms of an existing ship, Rhino is too cumbersome and inaccurate.
It is worth learning how to use Rhino and know how far you can go with it but for calculations of naval architecture, calculation of scantlings, creation of constructive drawings, information for workshops, etc., it is better that you think of other CAD- CAM software.
