Sorry - I hope that didn't come off as rude ... It really is the case that most people aren't familiar with south texas flats fishing --- most boats down here at least taper to flat or near flat ... Of course you have the folks who wanna run in the gulf -'their boats of course are not -- you get the idea I suppose ...

Gonna see if I can find some blueprints for free - found a guy handy with fiberglassing boats who said he would help me out with that part so I'm good to go ...

Did not get the impression of rudeness Safe2.

We have lots of flats fisherman here in Florida but they are apparently not as inventive as Texans. The boats in the pictures are, for sure, purpose built and I see no reason to change what works. If not built too heavy, those boats will go like a bandit with modest horsepower.

Design wise There is not much to them. Ought to be easy enough to build. The sketch that you originally posted will come pretty close to what the pictures suggested. Still. I'd be a little hesitant to use a lot of foam in an enclosed place.
