If you install a fixed tank, there are a lot more regulations to comply with than if it is portable. A plastic portable one may be easier. If you want to use an old steel tank, at least pressure test is for leaks; that may prevent your boat from exploding or going up in flames.

Any hope in converting that one I have that's plastic into a gas tank for the boat? It's the same thing just doesn't have the fuel line to the motor.
