Convert a JPG Boat Photo to CAD like drawing graphic

I've built and programmed a 3D scanner with a lidar sensor. I'm not sure what you are using but I guess it's the built-in lidar from apple devices? You can install Rhino from the Appstore which has a tool for 3D scans with apple devices and I assume it creates a 3D model you can work with.

My selfbuild scanner creates pointclouds which are importable to Rhino and I guess many other 3D software. For lines/surfaces/.. (everything except points) further manual modification is needed.

It looks like rather a large object for a single scan.Things such as Faro arms or Proliners use target objects so that you can stitch several scans together to create a model of the whole object.something of this nature may work with an Iphone.

TANSL is an honorable man he knows his stuff and has given me design help before, I'm sure you will be impressed with what he can do for you....

Thank you @aaronhl for your words, you are really kind. Yes, I like to help those who may need it and sometimes I even make a profit from it (which I also like). And I never try to dazzle anyone with my enormous theoretical knowledge, I prefer to make them participate in my real practical experience.
Cheers.

I've tried converting photos into line drawings before using different methods, and Photoshop filters worked decently for me. If you're looking for something resembling a CAD-like effect rather than an actual CAD file, playing around with contrast and edge detection filters in Photoshop or GIMP can help. You’d need to refine the lines manually to get a cleaner look, though.

If you also plan to create video content around your boat projects, cutting and editing clips efficiently can make a huge difference. For that, a good video cutter for pc can save a lot of time while keeping everything smooth and professional-looking.

Sorry this is just poster edging a jpg photo. As I already explained I’m looking to do something more than that. See previous

Some progress. I’ce continued to experiment with various LiDar scanning apps that will run off the iPhone. This is an experiment for measurements using 3d Scanner app for iPhone in the engine room. Scanning a big boat still presents problems.

I apologize in advance if I’m using the wrong terminology. Or if this is the wrong forum section.

I would like to know if there is a simple way to convert a JPG photograph of a boat into a CAD-like image or structural line drawing.

I don’t need a CAD file or anything like that. I just want a CAD-like representation of the boat for graphical purposes best hair transplant turkey. This would be handy for my YouTube channel or website. It would allow me to make some layman design notes and present the boat hull in something other than a photograph.

Specifically, I want to convert a photo of the Albin 27 pocket trawler and maybe my Compac 16 pilothouse conversion project.

I have read about using the LiDo camera function On my iPhone but I have not been able to get this to work too well with any app or software.

Maybe all this is a vector illustration of a boat hull? Which may still be beyond me

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance
To convert a JPG photo of your boat into a CAD-like image, you can use vector illustration software like Adobe Illustrator or the free Inkscape. You can import the photo and either manually trace or use the automatic tracing features to create a line drawing. This will give you a simple, clean representation of your boat for design notes or presentation purposes. Alternatively, you can use online tools like Vector Magic for quick conversion or software like AutoCAD for more precision.

Some info on my scanning experiments.
How to use iPhone LiDAR to export scan to CAD software using Onshape App

Interesting video. You might want to mention that there are LiDAR Apps available for Android Phones. I haven't used them but most of the ones I have looked at are compatible with Android and iOS phones. So there shouldn't be any compatibility issues.

hi
i also interest in scaning my boat. i will try with i phone and post a result
