Building the houseboat

Today it was sunny, warm and beautiful. My wife told me: why we don't start again.
We both went working on deck for two hours.
I will resume slowly, and after the doctor put a new brace on my ankle, by next week I should be full time.
It was about time.
Thank you all
Daniel

Glad to hear you're out and about. I think it's probably good for you to start again; I always seem to heal better when I manage to keep moving. But don't push your luck.

I'm happy to hear your wife was beside you. When I tried to show my wife the flat-bottomed canoe I was building, she said, "why would I want to look at a boat? You know I don't like them...."

welcome back and best of luck
and three cheers for the wife who helps out
sounds like a great gal

Well, we already knew she was a saint. After all, she puts up with him....:p

probably wouldn't have hesitated to take my advice on how to fix that ankle like he did either

oh well

Hmm,

not sure about that.

Probably he was never injured but used a cheap trick to get her involved in the task and to have a few days off?
After all he is up to every trick, isn´t he?

Shame on you Daniel..........;)

What can I say, caught my with pants down :D

Welcome back Daniel. Glad you're healing up. If you weren't such a wooden boat purist I would have suggested a little epoxy & fiberglass to fix that ankle! :D

Looking forward to more updates & photos. Take care and take it easy.

Thank you all.

I am afraid I believe so much in timber that when they gave me the crouches in aluminum at the hospital, I asked them if they have some in wood.
They look at me like if I had to be blue slipped immediately :D .
And yes my wife is helping me, here she is painting the inside of the counter-stern.
She is a trooper, bless her heart.

Daniel

Take very good care of her. Tell her to be very careful. We certainly don't want to see you both laid up.
