Looking for simple loudhailer

Hello All,

We have a small barge ( 20 by 50) that we push with 24' pushboat.

Only on freshwater protected lakes.

I am looking for a very simple loudhailer with horn feature. So that I can talk to guys on barge deck while landing barge.

Just want a simple one. Preferably non electronic if possible.

With speaker, mic etc.

Non-electronic and speaker, mic etc. are mutually exclusive. Otherwise, you can yell really loud and use a hailer.

not really sure what that answer means....

But we are just looking for a very simple loudhailer possible with a horn to warn people.

Just needs to be a simple design with digital screens or too many options.

Sorry I meant to say without digital screens.

Just simple. With hopefully two functions. Barking orders to guys on deck of barge and a horn/alarm.

I'd have thought a loud hailer and an air horn were two separate things ?

The ones we use have a tone button, Maybe your crew needs one each too, so they can communicate back to you...............
Usually at close quarters the deckhand uses his fingers to signal closing distance in nominated units........ No not that finger, well yes but not on it's own & on say the last meter a visual indication of gap with palms rubbing on contact........

Most loudhailers have a horn feature. They are readily available.

I went to this site but this link looks like just the speakers.

Isnt there a unit that needs to go inside with the microphone and base ?

I have never seen one or used one that is why I ask.

They are self contained. Watch any cop show on TV. This is what they use.

Try searching for a 'bullhorn' or a megaphone

Got one like this from port-supply / west-marine a few years ago for about 30 bucks.

Takes 8 'c' size cells and has a switch for a siren and the mike can be clipped to the end and amplifies when the trigger is pressed. The battery compartment o-ring is a bit naff for sealing and I always wrap a layer of tape to seal, but batteries will last several months - even has a 12v input socket.
