Building from a simple line plan?

Tad's modern design above will point higher, claw off a lee shore and perform so much better over all than the cod's head, mackerel tail style hull just posted.
Obviously the deck structure can be modified to suite.

How about keeping your eyes peeled for an abandoned vessel of similar proportions that litter boatyards around the globe. Find something built from timber that likes epoxy eg Douglas Fir, spline it cover it in glass and epoxy and hit the water.

The project you are talking about and the approach is mind boggling, unless you are an individual of Extremely rare character, it will never happen.

Just my opinion based on my own broken dreams and those of countless others.

Good luck, I wish you success.

Howard Chapelle´s `Boatbuilding` has a plan + offset table for a 45 foot hard chined workboat that looks pretty simple and straight forward.
IMHO The best deal you can get, because you buy a very complete book about wooden boat building, and you get a plan to build, what I think the kind of boat you are looking for.
Just my 2 cents.
