White glue PVA on boats

Silly question please. Sons built many many types of RC stuff.. now hes starting a power boat. Just started today, sent me a pic and he's using White Glue (PVA). I'm a plane builder and when my planes get wet out at field the white glue often turns back to white and becomes unstuck [some circumstances]

Should he continue and paint over joins or what's recommended for RC BALSA model Kits please?

It is not waterproof, so it likely will detach when water permeates.

This is a very serious matter.
If the boat is to be left in the water it will not last long.
However, if it is trailered and stored out of the water it might be okay.
However, it is generally a poor practice to use white glue in boat construction.

Might be wrong, but I interpreted the project as a RC model powerboat ? But PVA is still not recommended.

When I was a kid I built many R/C boats.
I used crazy glue 'cause it was fast, and I didn't need a seal as I fiberglassed the entire hull.

Titebond III is decent. Elmers wood glue is ok. Might try E6000, since it is now in big box stores. It comes in several different formats and viscosities.

It depends.

If you build a strip boat; you can use pva if the boat is fiberglassed and epoxied over as the glue would be considered temporary and isolated from ingress.

And I mean a real boat; like a canoe.
