    Kayak Gridlock

There's supposed to be canoes in there but I can't find one . . . there's an even greater area of floating plastic in mid-Atlantic.

Must be "boat-people", if you zoom in you can see they all have people on board... A floating community? Did you count them? Is it a guiness-book acknowledged record?

That'a quite a gaggle all right. Even the Islamorada sand bar and the Columbus Day regata doesn't get that crazy. Computer foolery??? Looks real enough in terms of packing and boat variety.

HA- googled first try. I searched "lots of kayaks photo". the photo is called -

    wait for it-

    "lots of kayaks"

I have no idea if it's real or a computerized artifact. It just arrived in my e-mail: I had to share . . .

They're packed in pretty close, presumably nobody there suffered from hydroclaustrophobia. If anyone fell out of their boat they might have had trouble finding enough water to surface again.

Some Infrared Images That I have Taken on Surveys...

I use thermal imaging in my surveys. I use the infrared themal imaging camera as an extra tool to help establish my findings (such as in delamination issues, or faulty electrical equipment). Thermal imaging is great for finding heat anomalies quickly where you would not otherwise see them. The infrared camera sees thermal radiation so no light at all is needed. You can actually see the thermal raditation with an infrared camera in complete darkness. I have some sample infrared images on my website and in blogs that I have written but wanted to share a few of them here:

Wow.. good.. Glad no one was hurt.. That must have made a loud "bang" when that thing came down! I have surveyed yachts dropped on travel lifts, but that would be something unique if I got the call for that one!

Looks like he over-reached himself... That should have been at least 2 cranes of that size - Possibly a case of "send a boy to do a mans job"?
