although the rising acidity levels of the oceans are an important issue whats relevant to this conversation is the altering of ocean currents. So far although there are demonstrable effects to the ocean currents system, the continuing shifts in current strength and location can only effect fishing and boating in significant ways. I'm hoping that the oceans moderating effect on climate change translates into changes within itself that are slow enough to at least allow migratory species to adjust to the changing currents.

ya the climate change thread was closed but it does serve as an excellent reference. This one isn't so much about explaining what climate change is but what its effects are and how they effect boating/shipping and the like.

as is the theory of gravity

    quantum mechanics
    relativity
    string theory

looks like global warming is in some pretty good company and as has been mentioned numerous times enjoys the greatest consensus view of them all

not bad for such a recent discovery eh

I've avoided this thread like a plague for the most part though I look over you all's contributions. I ran into this article Hidro FREE renewable energy and it's just seems to be maybe the most perfect viable solution I've seen anywhere. They say it's proven technology but isn't scaled to home standards (size) at least not at the moment.

Is it because a big corporate conglomerate like GE doesn't own the patent that our "piece prize president" is blowing wind technology instead. Any thoughts..

the BBC today or yesterday had an article about the inefficiencies of wind generated power, my personal take on it is that if they put the same resources into developing wind sun and tidal energy as they did oil and gas they'd have had viable alternatives long ago.

If we could harness the wind-bags in Washington we could put them to oars and make them move freight.
