My first design, Corroboree, will be For Sale soon!

It has been a long time since I participated actively on this Forum, and I did enjoy my years here. Since 2017, my wife and I have been sailing around the world on the very first boat I designed professionally, Corroboree, a wood-epoxy 35' monohull with a free-standing carbon fiber mast in a sloop rig. We purchased Corroboree back from my original owner in 2014 and spent two years refurbishing and repairing her for our circumnavigation. We are in Cape Town, South Africa, now, a little more than 3/4s the way around, and we will be finishing our trip in Grenada in June. When we get there, Corroboree will be for sale. I'm sure you'll also be sorry to see the "old gal" go too..

Safe onwards travels to the Caribbean, it can be a bit nasty that side of Cape Town....and then for home.

I have very much enjoyed following your adventure's on your wife's excellent Blog over the past 5+ years - congrats from me as well on your epic voyage so far.
Will you be stopping at St Helena and / or Ascension on the way north?
I guess we can't persuade you to visit Barbados first, rather than Grenada, as we are about 160 miles upwind of Grenada?
(I first bumped into Eric about 45 years ago, when they arrived in Barbados after crossing from the Canaries in a little 27' Danish built yacht (I think she was a Bianca 27?), and then our paths crossed again in Newport one day 10 years later).

 

Hi Bajan! Yes, indeed, we are stopping at St. Helena and then Fernando de Noronha on the way to Grenada. Unfortunately, we will not be going to Barbados. But I remember you well, both when you came by our boat Duprass (yes, a Bianca 27) in December 1977, and then later when you came to Newport and stopped in at my design office. Grenada is where we officially started our circumnavigation and where we wish to end it. But who knows, we may get back to Barbados one day!
