dissappointed in new Viper stainless steel prop.

That hull isn't designed for performance at all, it's a simple low cost fishing boat. I wouldn't expect it to respond to HP or different props in the same way as something like a bass boat.

one more issue I neglected to mention was all prior shakedown runs where conducted using a 6 gallon portable fuel tank which has a 1/4"inside diameter fuel pick up tube.
this latest shakedown w/ new Viper prop. I used the proper sized fuel tank w/ a 3/8"Inside diameter fuel tube you would assume that the 1/4" pickup was choking off the fuel supply but evidently has little to no effect on performance decrease.

so in reality I was actuely expecting even more than 5MPH increase from just prop upgrade to stainless steel an engineered by BRP. was also expected better proformance w/ the larger fuel supply tube feeding what the ETEC needed.

which makes this even doubleing the dissapointment.

here's the little portable.
Why would you believe a 1/4” fuel line would matter?

If fuel flow is disrupted; the engine will stall or if leans out, overheat.

This is not a rational expectation.

I’d say you are tweaking the wrong things.

Also…

I have a 22’ Bluewave with a Suzu DF200 or DFA200 and it always goes faster trimmed up some and not marginally, but from 37 to low 40s or 10%+. I figure a 250 would be best, but not worth 30 grand.

I put a 200HP Evinrude on my Blue Wave that was rated for 150HP, I could never really get it to respond to the added HP or props. The hull design limited what it could do.

And right in manual it says what size fuel line to use, it is extremely important.

Damn straight! In my hood there was a rash of 150 G2 Etecs installed with the wrong fuel lines leading to fuel pump failures, and the guilty mechanics selling a new replacement Yamaha and blaming Evinrude.

So, an undersized fuel line will result in an engine that runs well, but at lower output? Come on fellas.
