Common structural rules

Is there any Common structural rules for vessels like AHTS,PSV,RESCUE VESSEL etc ?? Materials for bilk carrier ,container and tankers are available from various class. But what about these vessels??

And how is the scantling calculation done for AHTS/PSV/RESCUE VESSEL etc

Same way any other vessel is done. You read the rules and input your vessels parameters to find the scantling that satisfies the Class's rules. Being "common" makes no difference in this sense, other than the cost of each Class versus another and whether there is sufficient in-country surveyors to review the build.

no common structural rules for above mentioned vessels....but can be done under general cargo category.....but there is separate category for offshore supply vessels.basically it depends up on functional loads of the ship.so most of the things you can do under general cargo category.but you will have to cross refer case by case mentioned in rules. Like wheel loading in case of Ro -Ro vessel, helicopter landing on deck etc.Generally Longitudinal strength evaluation is common for all ship category but incase of high speed craft you can see that additionally slamming bending moment is considered. thank you READER ...correction and comments are always welcome
