Boatspeed 23
From memory, originally "designed" by Peter Ullricht of Boatspeed (world-class boatbuilders in Australia) who extended a set of 18' skiff moulds. In general, as far as I know the fastest thing its length afloat in Australia, despite being designed about 1989. They are quite capsizable, being more radical than other sportsboats in many ways.

As previously described the boatspeed is a 23ft weapon total weight is about 250 kg plus saftey gear. there was only a limited first production run with a five to six being built in the first run at present l am sailing on the last of those built in that run.

recently the molds were resored and the next generation of the boat was built. This boat sails from Sydney and is named "Charlie".

This verison of the boat has more of the attributes of the 18ft skiffs that it was designed from that if does not have a cabin and has a dish style cockpit. compared to the original which still has a cockpit and a more traditional looking cockpit.

Another 23' Boatspeed is currently sailing out of Townsville Yacht club, recent club races have demonstrated this to be competitive against 40' yachts in light winds (<20 knots) and minimal swell. Definately a quick boat.
