I know there has been probably lots of post about this topic, but I am a beginner student and need help on choosing the most basic books on Naval Architecture. Thanks.
Skenes elements of yacht design was good for me learning to design many years ago, I think there's a new eddition some time ago that may have been updated....
Larsson & Eliasson, Principles of Yacht Design. Modern boat building with some insight to ISO standards.
Skenes original book was reprinted some years ago but there are also revised editions available around. Good reference book for wooden boat building.

Here at University of British Columbia our program is a one year program for candidates who have completed their undergraduate work. Come on up after graduation!
We recommend the Dokkum book for preparatory study.
