What boat is this?

You're right the hurdles are real I'm in Canada and there is only one office in the whole country that registers marine crafts making for an extra challenge

You can see it has been propped up there to keep in level,

You can't form a hook in the chine like that from sitting, in needs to be molded in from the start.

It could also be an optical illusion.

I realise that, that isn't going to a result of lack of framing or support, it does appear to be there though, which would be unusual. The boat appears to be about 23 feet, I rather like the bottom shape, what we can see.

As long as you have a rough idea as to what you're getting into. As long as you have the money, place to work, requisite skills (or can acquire them) and most important the time. These projects can be very rewarding and there is satisfaction and piece of mind in doing a restoration. The people you see who caution you are very wise IMO. Why? Because 99% of restorations are never completed. The restorer runs out of money, or his interest fades, or his health goes south, or his wife divorces him because she tires of being a "boat widow".

I'm not saying that will happen to you just beware. Done right a boat restoration is a considerable undertaking. Read this thread that I put up some time ago......

Want to know how much a restoration might cost you? Read on..... https://www.boatdesign.net/threads/want-to-know-how-much-a-restoration-might-cost-you-read-on.62104/

That was a really good read. Despite the cost I find it something to be proud of that most people cannot accomplish I would much rather have a bst boat ( blood sweat and tears) than a new one. I would love to see pictures of your resto. Thanks for the great read!

Thanks for the compliment. As for photos, I'll post a couple of links to other threads that have some photos of the original boat and the rebuilding process. You can do a search for threads that I started if you'd like. There are a lot of them . You'll find a wealth of information on this site but as always, use your common sense and think carefully about whose advice to take.

Here was my very first post here back in 2007. As you'll see I was a complete novice....

Today she looks like this....

I hope I didn't bore you with all this. I was having some lunch and as I looked for some photos I started "walking down memory lane". As you see, it's a marathon rather than a sprint, and in truth a labor of love.

Good luck, whatever you decide to do and keep us posted if you decide to go forward.

Regards,

MIA

I enjoyed the links. Over the winter I plan on finishing up the floor of my runabout I spent several months early this year I needed to take my dad out before he was too sick to do so.
