I own a Freedom 33 with wishbones and am considering conventional rigging, any thoughts?

    Thanks Dwight

I've done a lot of engineering on Freedom rigs and other free-standing rigs. One option may be to keep the wishbones but go to a single ply sail on a track. You can added a track to the mast, and all the later Freedom's went that way.

What advantages are you seeking by converting?

What do you dislike about the rig now?

Thank You for responding. I have trouble getting the sails up and am not sure I have it rigged properly. It seems like more trouble than a conventional rig, though I have little experience with those. I'm not as young as I use to be and the system is heavy and lifting the wishbones is difficult and the mizzen mast wishbone is very low so that I have to watch not to be hit by the wishbone.
