    G. & R. Not Imbituba or Porto Belo and not in Santa Catarina state.

About the whale image. There are very few pictures from that time. The pic I gave could be an example for what they used to do -‘whale trapping’- along the Brazilian coastline and is not necessary taken at the place we are looking for.

But...., the first word from the name of ‘our place’ is the -Middle English / Old French / Portuguese / Latin- word for ‘trap’ from whale ‘trapping’.

    Good Luck!

Special thing is actually a statue of the fishermen pulling their net in, by Christina Motta.

The girl statue is Brigitte Bardot. Also by Christina Motta, a local artist.

Sorry, I took this, the fishermen statue, to be the typical thing...?

Yes ! Sorry, I was a few posts behind (busy uploading photos), so I didn't konw that you've found the Three Fishermen Statue and Brigitte Bardot as well.

Good luck with the new one....!!

    Cheers!

Lucky Googling :) Of course, when you *know* the fishermen are a statue, you can see it, in the second picture, although it would take careful looking without. And the first, silhouette picture looks totally natural.

Anyway, sorry about the pipping, guys ;D and thanks for a great puzzle, Angel!

There can't be many statues that get covered and uncovered by the tide, the only other one (or ones, I should say) is Anthony Gormley's 'Another Place' I posted a few pages ago. There's rather a beautiful little film of it here - only 4 minutes long.

    Now, to our next puzzle...:D

Do you know where this is?

Where is this crowded little islet, and what is its name?

Surely - yes, sorry - work getting. in the way again.
The islet is governed by a sheriff, and has a customs house, but no fresh water supply. It provided sanctuary to someone wrongly accused of being a beast, and is the subject of a gentle dispute between two 'old ladies' .
