    Fanie Fanie

Still working my butt off preparing the place to build the boat
Nothing exciting, just hard labour. Arms thin, back sore, vitamin pills few.
I need a holiday... so I can work on the place to build the boat :D

I still building my houseboat, nothing very unusual.

Yes Fanie, I did it again. :D

The weather is superb, we have a string of 80F. and blue sky, I am really lucky.

    Cheers

    Nuttin' happenin' here.......yet.

Well almost nuttin', scored a 4" bench vice at an auction for $25. Retail $90. Got two shaft zinc's off of e-Bay for $6 each. It'll be another week & a half before the wood is ready for the bow shed. I'll have to plane it all though as it's rough cut. Standby.....

It might have been easier Fanie! :p

Just getting this bow shed up is turning into a major production! I kinda underestimated how much work these things are. It doesn't help I'm doing it all by myself. My back and knees hurt somethin' fierce!

Looks a lil' more like a messy construction site now. I've got 3 more bows to make, had to take a break for awhile, back seizing up on me. I don't like working on the ground. I'm building one more arch so I can double up the center span, that's where I'll lift the engine into the boat.

The next report should be the actual assembly of this monster! Standby....

Looks like a wide shallow boat's stringers you assemble there... or do they go in three's ?

You won't believe what I have done in the last few months... hard manual labour, the end is not in sight yet. Attempting to put a building up, decided to make the boat building a bit more 'pro'.

Well you know how many of us guys get lower back problems... thats why when heavy things needs lifting or moving around I have the wife do that :D

I'd recommend a jig to put it together on, maybe some pins set in the ground or something, or build the floor and pin it off that, but having something you can just toss the components in eliminates all the brain ache from the process. My two cents although obviously you've got it under control.

my weekend was traumatized with ripping out the old lead and cast iron drain/waist system from the house and replacing it with ABS throughout, took me all day sat and sun and thank everything you might hold holly its done, I at least get one day to goof off. Looks good though, all the verticals are and all there horizontals aren't. Got all the venting in were it goes and tied back into the stack bla bla bla plumbing

    even holds water

    cheers

Dug up my old battered RC helicopter, took it apart, cleaned the engine (was jammed like mad, had'nt cleaned it since my last use 4 years ago) finally got it rotating again (still need to try it out).

The reason for all that? A friend has a fiberglass model boat, figured id stick the engine, receivers, servo motors and the works into it and get myself an RC boat :D
Oh and dug up an old RC plane that i never used before, might take it for a spin and destroy it like my last 2 planes.

Not much, other than stumble upon a technology that promises to provide free energy via perpetual motion. I'll also be heading out for a free lunch in about an hour.

Now Now...it only took a few days over a month (and about 16 hours actual build time) to make. I expect it to still be usable in the fall of 2015 with considerably more hours spent on the water than spent building it. If I had spent those 16 hours at The Boat (Casino)...I would be CONSIDERABLY poorer, have nothing to take the kids fishing in (on that particular lake) and you wouldn't have this particular project to poke fun at. Seems like a Win Win all the way around.
