What did I do this weekend? well I came to the decision that the beer in the yacht club is crap, yuk , kinda sweet and no alcahol in it, ive stopped drinking it and shall make a complaint the manager forth with.

I have therefore decided to risk swine flu in Thailand and adopt the British approach of if I get it I get it. Anyway 0.7% chance of dying from normal flu as 0.5% from swine.

Taking that into consideration Ide rather have swine.

Any way oof to Thailand tomorrow where i can drink Chang beer, the most gorgeous beer on gods earth.

Shall use a mask on the ferry, and keep the car window up in towns.

Wed night I will be down the strip in down town Pattaya ---Oh god I cant wait.

Thursday,-- back the Suzuki 1400 out and fire it up and have a little trip in the country, few girly bars there too. I dont know why I leave Thailand realy only to visit the boat, boats are stupid.

Summer --winter Hmmm that rings a bell, I remember.

Here's a weekend highlight for you. My next door neighbour (the white one) was robbed in an armed robbery. Three armed philamons (whose fire arm licenses wasn't checked by the police) emptied the place out. The ford truck had a tracker installed, it was found in one of the townships. The goods they took were missing.

Amazingly the police and armed responses always appear afterwards. Last time there were burglars in our back yard the police refused to go in and arrest them. So it seems they are the cleaning mob around here. When there's **** they are no where to be found. Afterwards they swarm the place.

The shithead across the street has a bush on the sidewalk. The philamons hid in there, and come to think of it, I strongly suspect they were set to rob me. We were out just before the robbery. I don't drive into the yard like others do, I reverse in so I can watch the bush across the street. There is no surprise advantage this way and if anyone tries to make a dash for it, I'll just run them over.

This place is so ****** up it is unreal. It is not a matter if someone is going to try and rob you, it is a matter of when.

South Africa is an unfit country to live in. It is as far gone as Zimbabwe in many ways, and the government does absolutely nothing to improve the already too far gone situation.

Now since all you clever arses imposed sanctions against SA some 16 years ago that got the white gov to hand over to the current disaster, where are you now ?

You all had the balls to throw stones then, now why don't you come and fix up the crap you caused :(

I hope you are blaming America? They seem like the appropriate country to blame for no other reason than America has taught the rest of the world how to do it... - Sue for damages perceived to have been done by the richer identity - find the best legal team first and pay on "success" as we learnt from America...

Strange how the "...evil that men do lives after them, the good oft interred with their bones..."

I can't remember who all jumped on the bandwagon Mas, but if you are guilty, I hope you have a sleepless night. This place is turning into a nightmare.

There are more white south africans living in other countries than here because of the situation here, yet the gov seems to turn a blind eye.

When all the whites have left here, south africa will return to it's previous primitive undeveloped state like all the poverty stricken places in africa.

When all this is set and done, don't ***** if your country cannot visit here. This is the next pirate haven you will have to deal with. Just wait untill they have figured that one out. It may be closer than you think.

Whoosh, we get bombarded dayly with interracial stuff. Always some philamon with a white woman or a white guy with suzi mtwe-twe Personally I find it extremely offensive, it is almost as if they wish we would make some mix to produce a bit of intelligence or something, I don't know.

We just had another theme on tv of how privileged we whites in SA are. I want to puke when that comes up. If by some fluke whites never came to SA, then these philamons would still have ran around the bushes killing one another off. There are no history of any advancements over many centuries amongst them.

Everything in this country was invented, built up, maintained etc etc, from the cars you get, electricity, housing right up to the shoes they wear and the stuffing in their teeth, all whites doing.

These philamons are the privileged ones. They just walked in and 'got', yet still blame whites for their failures and incompetences by names of appartheid and 'white' racism - whatever that was since as long as I can remember they have been living amongst us. Even after being in pawa (power) for 15 years they fail in business, farming you name it. Surely there must be these bright new generation of upcoming engineers and other facets eh !

White privileges disappered 15 years ago when crime was legalized under the blanket of yet again apartheid. There is not a single law in sa that I know of that says I have any rights, including in a scenario like tonight where arms was involved. If my neighbour shot one of them they would have arrested him on the spot, confiscated his fire arm and threw him into a cell, leaving behind a wife and kids to fend for themselves. I'm not sucking this out of my thumb, it has happened quite a few times with people I know. The figgin criminals have all the rights. The poor ***** that tries to live a decent life gets screwed left right and centre and pays up non stop.

I discussed this with some of my friends. We love South africa, we were all born here. We have family and friends, this is our world.

The situation now here is becoming intollerable, there really in not a single reason I can think of for staying here. If my wife goes shopping I don't know if I will see her alive again, she could be hijacked and killed, a common reality here. I have sleepless nights because our outside alarm goes off and as many as three times a night, and each time a risk some illiterate takes a shot at you. When you phone the police the illiterate there pretends he doesn't understand what you are saying and gives the phone to the next one who just repeats it again. One of the illiterates asked if it is a black or white burglar, when you say it is a black he shouts you are a racist and puts the phone down. This is the police that is supposed to protect the public. Most people doesn't even bother to report crime.

My friends brother in law got shot in his house. He layed there bleeding for three and a half hours before the ambulance arrived. The police never pitched up. I can go on and on and on and that's just the people I know. If you make a heck of a scene they publish a puny article in one of the local newspapers.

What does make headline news and get on tv news is when some white racist slap a philamon who sat a dent on his new audi's bonnet. Crime of the year.

I heard two nights ago that the gov aparently is going to appoint 4000 illiterates to monitor certain businesses, and these illiterates will get a percentage if they find so called 'irregular' funds. Can you imagine that circus.

What would you have done ?

BTW, my neighbour can expect another similar incident in about two weeks. They know he's going to replace the stuff they took, so they can score again.

Further to the comments by Whoosh, "many come here whites from Zim and SA, they saved many farms who could not get local labour.
Au is a very difficult place to get into, either you need a pot of dough OR have skills, and be of a certain age.
i could never live as you do
In NZ we could not leave the farm either, it,d be burgled, same with the yachtbuilding bus, so I just stayed home"

I am not sure but if entry to NZ is relatively easy? and once permanent residence status is given, access to Oz is easier? not sure on that though, our 'saffa' friends here, seem to be doing quite well... having come in via NZ...

Fanie, you have it wrong my mate - when a black rob a white nowadays in South Africa, it is called affirmative shopping. That probably explains the lack of interest shown by cops in these cases since the majority of them are black as well.

For the rest, you said it well -- I salute you.

Disclaimer: No racism was intended and to be honest, a black is a black, coloured a coloured, a white a white, an Indian an Indian and so forth. It is a fact of life without getting into racism. Those who cannot work this out - screw you.

Fanie is quite right in asking where the MF's are who voted for sanctions against us at the time and now not around to sort out the mess caused by them so to speak. The countries that were most hostile against SA before the black take over were indeed Australia, NZ and the USA. Not worth mentioning the Swedes etc.
However, these three countries are probably more racist than the old SA - the yanks having Indians in reservations, some places in NY and Chicago cab drivers refused to take me simply because I was white and would get hurt.
Australia the same thing; let me keep quiet about the Abbo's etc and the 4 weeks I spent there, I experience more racism than in the "old" SA.
Then there is NZ and the Maori....
The only sin SA had then was the fact that there was a word for it - "apartheid". and I hate it if people using that word **** my language with the ridiculous pronouncement of the word.

Sorry for being straight and said my piece but I hate hypocrites...

Ps; I look forward to the 2010 soccer world cup when millions are expected from all over the globe, and the sorrow many of them are to experience. Many will be robbed by gunpoint, knife, many killed in the process of being robbed, if one is lucky, left alive to see your women ***** by some mob youngsters of about 13 - 18 years old. I will not get into the petty side of crime.

Fact; FIFA member killed within hours sitting foot on soil here on a golf course.
Tourist couple robbed when sight seeing at a dam, lady ***** by gang and killed. These type cases do not make headlines anymore.
Its nearly a daily occurrence for tourists to get robbed between airport and hotel after being stalked and followed from airport. And I can go on and on.
Best to stay in your safe countries and pass here.

I stay in a better residential suburb and will not venture outdoors after dusk to walk to the shop about 900m away. Even in daylight it is a risky affair.

Statistically South Africa is the most violent country in the world and it get worse everyday. We count murders daily with 3 digits totals

Oh dear, I've started the next world war

At the time there was sanctions imposed, who ever did thought they did the right thing. The problem is not the ones that imposed the sanctions, the problem is here.

It's like the 12 year old who insisted in gettig his driver's license, then when he gets it from external pressure, makes accident after accident.

After 15 years of driving the kid seems to be still 12 years old and stil makes accident after accident, but refuses to seek help and does not respond to hints or help offered from others, probably out of fear of getting the driver license revoked.

Someone must inform this kid of the problems he is causing, many die every day. Millions are lost in income daily. The whole country is slowly tipping over. The few that can still drive is about to take their skills and resources elsewhere.

So here is the plea -

If any one in such a position by some small chance of fate read this, then you can make a difference to reverse this tragic situation. Now is a good time to see a man about a country, before it is too late.

A lot is in your hands, our's are tied.

I would not be surprised at Australia's complicity - I was out of the country (Australia) but was aware or a bunfight over rugby or cricket - not being interested in either - ignored it...
Many in OZ are racist the few who seem less so are friends (so few they are not difficult to maintain regular contact with - metaphorically speaking?) - - - What are we igniting now? hehehe - - I often think of joining as a citizen another "country" called OPEN OCEANS...

We had an armed robbery next door last weekend and it is not the end. As a temprary precaution we are now dishing up some more money that could have gone to good use on the boat to upgrade our security here instead.

All three my neighbours left, front and right have been cleaned out twice recently. I think the only reason we 'prevented' that so far was my paranoia with the whole situation and the fact that we are almost always here, working from home.

The wife and I frequently had arguments about things being done in certain ways that was in my opinion leaving oportunities for robbers to get a shot at us. After the weekend the wife is quiet - the neigbours were very lucky no one was shot and no one was *****, them having two girls. Others were not so lucky.

By the morrow I'm installing a DVR system and so will the neighbour, amongst other precautions. It could have been two people's salary had the situation being different. We currently have no choice :(

On a more positive note, I have the glass wetout machine welded and the rollers still have to be fitted. I should have it ready in a couple of days to attempt my first fast wetout exersize.

I still have to obtain a single phase to three phase inverter and a 230V three phase motor with gearbox so I can speed control the jig that will be glassed.

The idea of the wetout machine is to wet the glass mat out fast as well as obtain the desired resin to glass ratio. The application of the wetted glass can then be done in one continuous motion, only pausing to add resin or replace an empty glass reel.

If this works as perceived it will mean two or three people can complete the glassing of a full hull in one day. The idea is also to dismantle the jig from inside the hull and redo the same exersize once the jig has been reassembled to make the second hull.

The first exersize will be to make the folding beams for the cat. The jig has been made alreadsy and is small enough for a first attempt.

So hold thumbs it is going to work out.
