That's $500 worth of nice shiny stainless steel exhaust. Oh the fat orange cat is Squirt the mutineer.

This is some of the rust issues I have to deal with, hence the welding stuff mentioned earlier. Notice the nice floor patch! :( We'll doctor it up and deal with that later.

Got the Admiral involved tonight! I might have set an ugly precedent. Normally I don't allow her to use power tools for various safety reasons. What was I thinking? :p

    Shame on me!

Trying to run a 20 Amp MIG welder on a 15 Amp outdoor circuit. A quick trip to the H/W store for new breakers, some 12/3 and a 20 Amp outdoor socket and we're back in business.

Run into some trouble with rusty nuts. I hate it when my nuts get rusty don't you? *lol*

Anywho, car is level and as high as we can get it. Topped out the floor jack but got 'nuff room to work. Still killing some rust and filling some rust holes. Nothing major, just tedious work.

Likely be next week b4 we can get to welding the sub frame connectors in. Taking a lil' longer than I had hoped but the weather hasn't cooperated. We're true "backyard" mechanics! :p

Got the Argon loaded ready to go! Will give it a shot tomorrow! Thnx Sean.

I have the greatest admiration for all true tradesmen. My Grandpa, god rest his soul, was a master craftsman, tool & die maker, electrician, carpenter you name it he built it.

Monday Is a good day to post on this thread.

Any way I noticed that Knotty bouys has revealed a good trick.

It would appear that he has strategically placed his tool box under the clothes dryer outlet keeping the tools warm to the touch.

Thats is a good idea if you live in Ontario I suppose.

But I would without doubt prefer to work on the gravel than soft wet grass.

    way to go
    did it damage the box
and how come the main didnt trip
should have if you were frying a breaker like that
    you might check it
    mains are funny
sometimes when you flip em to work on the box they wont reset and sometimes once they have been reset they wont break when they are supposed to
Im not sure if you are qualified to work on the main, if not find someone who is
cause looks to me like that thing failed to prevent an arc and that looks like arc damage to me
melted breaker contacts are really uncommon

    off topic flicker
but kinda funny none the less

Yup that was a good one.
It stripped the threads off the main buss so we can't put another breaker in that slot.
It didn't trip the main this time.
    Testing was done everything's fine.
My buddy came and looked at it. He's a licensed industrial electrician. He figures that a 20 Amp overload wouldn't have done that. This was the 2xbreaker for the two outdoor outlets. He thinks we got struck by lightening which did happen about three weeks ago which did trip the main. When I got home that night the house was blacked out.
Yup too much arcing for 20 amps that's for sure.
The contact disintegrated. No sign of it anywhere.
