I have sourced numerous urethane rigid panels (1.5" x 4'x10') that i hope to utilize as both the sub floor and shade structure of a 50 ft. power cat. Normally I would use Nida Core or other similar core products. Am I missing something? the cost savings is $Thousands$, I have laminated two pieces end to end and they are rock solid. Your thoughts and assistance please. ! Thanks Mike S.

Do you know the density ? Shouldn't be too hard to work out, from weighing one panel.

Welcome to the forum.

Yes. You will be missing the lack of internal cohesion of urathane foam to resist sheer delamination. It takes very little force to start the skins from seperating from the foam core. Once any delamination begins it spreads rapidly.

Spend the money for PVC foam if used structurally.. Urathane is great insulation and post catastrophe buoyancy, but not structural.

Higher densities can have structural application, but the "standard" density of 1 kg/cu ft is not suitable.
