I'm not sure that's uplifting, especially for the stupid, but then that's hardly a problem, because nothing is so well distributed as intelligence, as almost everyone thinks to have enough of it.

 

Actually, agreeing with and enhancing your point, there are many kinds of intelligence. To name a few, common sense, though not very common! Street Smarts! Test wise!
Kids who early on attract a teacher's attention as being bright, get subjected to IQ tests. The more IQ tests they take, the better they perform on IQ tests.
I am not a genius, but I was married to one, and two of my daughters test as high level geniuses. Occassionally they condescend to chat with merely mortal dad.
I wish I were smarter!
