Actually I was much nicer than he deserves. And quite frankly it is you who should be nice. You have railed against a boat design when you clearly do not have the skills, understanding or position to be able to make any judgement. The Mac 26 serves the purpose it was intended for extremely well. I may not care for the type of boat or the build but to say it is not good at what it is intended to do is just an ignorant statement.

mackid068: I'll even take an Escape Mango (9-foot yellow plastic bathtub) and win.

Go for it Frank. My money's on mk.

Well, long story. Partially crew issues and partially just a crappy day. We'll be out next wednesday if I can get people to show up. Got any spare cute women you want to loan me for...uh...crew? :)

You might not win, but you'll certainly come in a close second.

we could borrow one of Doug Lord's Hydrofoiler radio controlled trimarans. Saw a video clip of one and by the looks of it one could easily outpace a Mac26m/x/whatever.

Why do you guys even bother responding to the Spaghetto? He's been booted off every legitimate forum I know of, except this one. Although I must admit, there is some small entertainment value to be gleaned from all the cr*p he comes up with. :p

By the way, last time I saw a 26x actually "sailing" I was trying to sail my half waterlogged 20' oyster boat with it's jury rigged leeboards and blown homemade spritsail. I was able to go circles around the x-boat. Light winds, 0 - 5kn, 1.5 foot chop, near Gulfport, MS. That oyster boat is now on the bottom of St Louis Bay, where it belongs. ;) Former harvester, now habitat.

Don't know what happened to that 26x, haven't seen it lately. Maybe she sucked up too much water ballast while sailing in fourth mode! :D

You sound like Frank the time he bragged about outrunning a 40' yacht. I'll tell you what he was told then... to count, the other skipper has to know it's a race. :D

I guess you saw the picture Sean took.
    :) :) :)

That was her first time ever sailing. She did great and is coming back next week. As for having any spare cute women, I've only got 2 on the boat...

Normally, yes. But in that particular encounter, I don't think it would have mattered!

No but, he told me all about it. :)

Doesn't look like he has any photos of that race posted.
