The Supernova is nicely balanced little trimaran as it is with its moderately sized rig. My criticism of the Supernova wouldn't be the small floats but how heavy the main hull is, It's solid glass and the centerboard is just a flat sheet of metal. It has a pretty cool system for demounting all the components for roof topping on a small to medium vehicle. I've heard they can break at the joins between the beam structure and the hulls which do seem a bit flimsy.

At that point small floats were favoured over large it makes for a less powered up and less stiff platform. As a positive you can also right the boat easily without needing help or having to flood the float like the Weta.

Just throwing a random idea out there I had never considered before... Biplane rig, each mast is stepped halfway between the vaka and an ama. Rigged just like two catamarans sharing a hull.

You need to go further and make a triplane.

Paul, I appreciate your concern but this thread is and has been about under 20' trimarans. And the link that I posted is the title Corley gave to that thread, not my idea. I don't really think it is cross posting when the subject matter is the subject of this thread.
PS-fixed the title of post 458.......

Nice find Doug! I like her! Looks like a good solid lightweight boat!
