    Friends,

If i have the dimension of the ship ( i.e. length, breadth, depth) and the wave height, is it possible to get the acceleration.

I am trying to figure out whether this can be calculated and make an excel sheet for it.

Really appreciate your opinion and guidance.

All you can do with that information is guess at the natural frequencies. You need an accurate representation of the hull and a knowledge of the mass distribution to do useful dynamics work.

For planing hull, Savitsky-Brown or Howgard-Johnes methods can be used.

Like to look those up one of these days. Thx Alik
Corn 1252 mentions ship and wave height tho
first thought i had what breaking comes with what props in reverse
and a froud nr. And probably a lot more calcs as Tim mentioned
Like Newton, displacement, HP and what else

Hull shape and moment of inertia have a major impact in the acceleration.
