    The Company:
    Our client is one of the worlds largest cruise shipping companies, with offices throughout the world. They call at over 260 ports on all seven continents and operate a fleet of 78 ships carrying over 1 million passengers a year.
    This role is to be based in their office on the West Coast of America.

    The Role:
    Reporting to the Nautical Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for assistance in all areas of the Marine Department, including the following:
    •Ensure the ships maintain an up to date folio of nautical charts and publications through the company designated chart agents, Marine Press of Canada.
    •Evaluate and assess suitability of nautical software for fleet wide use and provide technical support.
    •Maintain the office library of nautical charts/publications/digitrace and port information.
    •Collate information on proposed new ports and make initial feasibility assessment on suitability for Princess Ships.
    •Review itineraries developed by market planning, validating all fields of data and correcting as necessary and advising on feasibility especially with regard to speed and fuel consumption.
    •Produce the ships position schedule.
    •You will also be responsible for the accuracy of the information contained in the MIN databases.
    •Daily monitoring of weather systems in ships cruising areas.

    The Person:
    The successful candidate will hold a class 1 Master Mariners certificate of competency, with recent seagoing experience on cruise ships. You will also have a good level of proficiency in MS Office applications and Lotus notes.
    The role does include some travel overseas and requires someone with a proven track record of vertical progression.
    Candidates with a diverse vessel experience will be considered, those with cruise ship experience have a winning edge. All candidates must have the existing right to live and work in the US.
