On Wednesday 9-15-2004 and Thursday 9-16-2004 boatdesign.net will be moving to a more powerful server in order to reduce the lag during daily and weekly backups.

The current server is a P4 2.8 Ghz with dual 80 GB SATA drives. Unfortunately the SATA drives are not performing as well as hoped and thus there is noticeable lag while backups are being performed.

The new server is a Dell PowerEdge dual Xeon 2.8 Ghz with three 73 GB U320 SCSI Drives and 2GB of ECC Ram located at The Planet.

I will attempt to make the move as transparent as possible, but thank you in advance for your patience if you encounter any momentary glitches during this time.

    Edit: 9-15-2004 : 7:00 PM

The forums are now running on the new server.

    Very Impressive Jeff

Who is funding this major upgrade? Should we all send you a dollar?

    Cheers
