Hi @bajansailor ! Our normal max tidal range is around 3.5m but I've seen over 5m here. We had a tide around Christmas that put a foot of water on the grass in our meadow, and tore a number of ramps loose from their docks. I'm from the Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia, with the world's highest tides. That is really something. Today it's 7m/23' in my old friend's neighborhood around Digby

The timber crib bases are packed with rocks, but even so, they would float up if they weren't bearing the weight of the longitudinal beam- it's over 12"/30cm in diameter, 21'/6.4m long, and doesn't float. Very heavy bit of wood. The longitudinal is lashed into the pilings just to maintain it's position.

Grid is successful. It's a bit of a mess under there. Surprised I could get her on the plane at all. Much better now.

    Good job, well done.

    1.). LU, lower unit?
2.). Are you going to back in to do the leg extension?
3.). Curious what the time stamp is on the first photo, to compare to your tide table readings for that time.

Answer to #3.) 1438 hrs local (~2.3m tide height)

Answer to #2.). No, too awkward and not necessary

Answer to #1.) Lower Unit indeed (AKA gearcase)

Lu is indeed lower unit. Although Bombardier calls it a gearcase.

I'll do the leg next time. By the time we were done scraping, the tide was pushing us back up hill.

Almost an exact square root performance curve. 4l/hr gives 9.6 km/hr. 40l/hr gives 30km/hr.

Went for a nice run. 31km/hr, which is the fastest she has gone with the 20" leg. Leg extension this weekend.

However, she would not maintain rpm. Kept creeping down, along with fuel consumption. Ease the throttle forward and she'd speed back up, then creep down again. Not something I had experienced before, since that speed was previously out of reach

Doesn't matter if you're doing the leg tomorrow, everything will change.

    Weird though??
    Throttle lever creep????

Faster with all the water in the hull making her sit lower????
Why else would it run faster?
    Improved/evolved driver skill???

I thought the throttle lever was creeping back, but no. Something internal. By the time the run was over, about 95% throttle to hold 4200rpm.

At the beginning of the run, 50% throttle for 4200 rpm.

Beats me, internal engine temp/plug temp?
Something wrong with the throttle linkage?
Fuel delivery issue(s) (the gauge you're reading doesn't actually measure anything, they are estimates based on engine parameters)
    Headwind changes during "runs"
The list is extensive and perhaps even counterintuitive...

Get some rest and put the 5" extension on tomorrow and see how it runs.

    Good night

Looks like the gearcase was from a different engine. Repainted black.
