Just make sure to pressure test if the tank is not removeable. I tested mine at 2psi

    Oh good.
Shame about the epoxy finish though.

Yes. I'll use SS bulkhead fittings fed in through the ill placed oversized opening, before I permanently cap off the original pick up.

You still need access to that, don't you?

It's going to be permanently capped off. I'll mark the location and cut down to it if I need to.

Had to feed the new fuel pickups down through the original opening and back up. You can see the brass wire I strung it on. Two SS bulkhead fittings, one for the current 250, and the second for that mythical time in the future where I have a pair of 150's instead.

Do you have any idea how lucky you are to get help? My wife helped me the other day and I was on cloud 9.

We had cheese and crackers and wine to celebrate the flooring install. 9519F189-0D80-4CD2-ACA7-60B1EF5D8E4C.jpeg

I know how lucky I am. And more importantly, I tell her every day that I know.

Three steps forward, two steps back. I used A1 fuel line as pickups, because I couldn't feed metal pickups down through the original 1½" hole and up through the new ½" holes. I fished wire through, threaded the assembly onto the wire, passed it down the big hole and up, threaded the top nut on, and once the nut was started, pulled the wire out. Then I held it all up with vice grips on the barb while I applied gasoline rated gasket forming compound. Once that firmed up I tightened the nut. Then repeated the fussy frustration for the other pickup.
Then yesterday I had an awful thought. A1 is rated for continuous fuel inside... But not continuous immersion. Continuous immersion fuel line is different.

TL-DR I think my pickups will slowly soften and dissolve.

Does "TL-DR" means "too long - didn't read"?
If so, what's the context, your previous paragraph or something else?

I thought your aluminum welder was going to weld a tubed pick-up and fill where you needed them.

    Previous paragraph.
Nope, it was always going to be me.

SAE 30R10 fuel line is rated for continuous immersion. Unfortunately SAE 1527 is not. Oh well. Anything I did once, I can do again.

Least you caught your own blunder. This, though, is part of why access to fittings, is required.

Yup. Better now, than in six months when I'm wondering what the black gunk in my fuel filter is.

Well, we have booked the travel lift for next Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning. Butterfly stomach days.
