    Sorry Vapera
I shouldn't use slang in an international forum.

    Poida,
I don't want to miss the joke for the second time. At least tell me what that slang means.

    Hi Vapera

Not really a joke buddy, bloody is a swear word.

I found there are 2 ways of finding things 1. Log everything on a computer with it's location. or 2. Have a wife.

My wife reckonds there are 2 kinds of ways of finding things, a man's way and a woman's way.

She says that men try to find things without actually looking.

So if I want to find my boat keys I will look for a few minutes and then say, "Darling have you seen my bloody boat keys?"

She will say something like,"did you leave them in the car?"
To which I would reply, "If I knew where I bloody left them I wouldn't be looking for them, would I?"

Then she says, "OK" and ignores me. WHY??

After about 30 minutes I get irate and yell, "Are you sure you haven't bloody seen them?"

After which she will get up, go to a cupboard I have already looked in about 3 times and grab them off the shelf right at the front, and slam them in my hand.

So I finish off with, "Thanks honey, you could have done that 1/2 an hour ago!"

    Aren't wives wonderfull?

Vapera, I would guess that your wife putting up with fibreglassing components in your apartment would have to be someone special.

Oh and when Australia plays Brazil on Monday prepare to weep my friend.

    Safewalrus,
You just have to hope there are no mirrors in the locker rooms or Beckham won't go to the field.

    Poida,

I see that no matter the country marriage is always the same: the wives find what we look for simply because they were the ones who kept it!

After what I posted about Brazil, do you think I would root for its bloody soccer team? I root for the teams of Australia, England, Portugal, Paraguay, Gana, India, China, Cuba...

If someone produces the "thing" for slalom competition (with a pivoting front), then in the next Olympics I'll root for the "thing", no matter the country using it. The "thing" will sure be the "phenomenon"!

Yes, of course, at least in that Brazilians are GREAT. I have been to Lisbon the day before yesterday when Croatia was playing with Brazil. I have noticed that half of the waiters in the downtown Cafés and restaurants were Brazilian (hard not to notice because all of them were wearing the Brazilian team sweat shirts) and Lisbon is full of banners, not only Portuguese ones, but also Brazilian and Angolan (many times the three, side by side), not only in the streets, but inside cafés and restaurants.
Come on man, join the party and make this thread the unofficial forum World Cup thread…. :p

Poida, fantastic last 10 minutes against Japan. Looks like Australians are fast learners...let's see if they can defeat the teachers:p

We won't win the cup but we've still got our hot pie with sauce, BBQs and beer.

Vapera wants to root for the "thing." Better not tell him what root means in Aussie slang.

What a great idea! put somemore mirrors in the English dressing rooms, might give us a chance - great individual players, lousy team players! Which is all well and good but football is a TEAM event

    Poida

I'd rather root for the 'thing' than on it! might make it a little unstable, but hell it'd be fun!:p good way to test the stability tooooooo

A while ago I was moored at an island and I thought it would be good to have a kayak so I could leave the boat and explore the reef.

Good idea for the thing as it could be folded away and stored in a small place.

Also people who moor their boats need a tender to get to it. They can leave a dingy on the beach which is not done much these days as it would get stolen, or they carry it on their roof rack. After they have paddled out to their boat they then normally have to tow it behind them where ever they go.
Enter the "thing." Take it out of your boot, paddle out and store it away when you get on board.

How stable it would be getting in and out of a boat, being as it is in two sections is another question.

Anyhow Vapera if you can't get the thing off the ground, put it on the ground. Battery, electric motor and wheels and you can zip down to the shops or, down to the railway station, folding it up into a case, get on the train and unfold it when you arrive. That way the little English kids won't float away on it.
