Critical to have reliable eye poke defense strategies on Internet forums.

One thing that would help a lot would be to abolish the oil and gas company subsidies as suggested earlier. Another would be to end there tax loopholes. We have a viable alternative in algae based bio diesel, and numerous independent companies are gearing up to produce at a fraction of the cost of petrol. Its carbon neutral and uses the same infrastructure as oil. Only real difference is it would be cheaper.

There shouldn't be any tax loop-holes for corporations because there shouldn't be any corporate taxes to begin with. The taxes are all passed on to the customers. Put the taxes on imported goods like other countries do.

the country used to survive entirely on lotteries and import tariffs

Wouldn't bother me a bit to see it go back to that either. I'm not a fan of gigantic gubment eating up trillions of dollars. Its kinda scary but I'm "almost" in agreement with you on that last as well. Although I'd like to see every corporation thats contributed to the destruction of the environment be penalized the cost of repairing it. And forced to accept the losses without passing them off to the customer.

And now we've found a third area of agreement. I need to sit down. Wait, I'm already sitting down. :D

I think this thread was destined to fail. You can't start by saying that you are right in your position and everyone else is wrong. On top of that that no one can state anything that contradicts you, because you already said everyone else is wrong and only you are right.

uh, every one else is wrong? no, not everyone else thinks that 97% of the climate scientists are wrong. A solid 50%+ folks in this country and a far greater number than that in others also believe in obvious.

A majority of people believed the Earth was flat, bleeding took the humors of sick people, and there is a wind tunnel between the jib and the main. All were and are bunk. Only fanatics an other unsure of themselves people try to prevent debate.
