I was wondering if I could glass in the port holes on the sides of the hull of a 37' Hatteras sportfish by removing the hardware, applying a couple sheets of glass on the inside, then filling in the hole with marine putty such as isophathalic putty and then sanding, priming, and spraying with Awlgrip?

Or, What is the recommended way to do this?

Treat it like any fiberglass repair. There's some good videos from Jamestown Distributors on YouTube that show you every step of the process.

Good luck. Post some pics as you go.
