The canvas is is very good condition, but it needs to be painted due to discoloration.
Two questions: 1. What is best conventional paint to use?
    2. Has anyone tried Flex Seal to seal the canvas? If so can flex seal be painted?
    Thanks for any advice.

    Welcome to the forum.

30 year old canvas shouldn't be trusted to have the properties it use to have. It tends to rot and weaken with age, even if it's not seen any real use in the last few decades. Oil based paint is the usual choice, lead based if you can find it (Kirby's). Flex seal will work, though you don't need the canvas and it'll add a bunch of weight.
