And then they say in the newscast "That L should be a J"

Of course, that's CBS news saying that. But still, you'd think after 2000 years the Church could get the corporate logo right.

Ah well, it is in the "oops" thread after all.

Hang on to your fish. Pancho strikes again.

The damn thing's as bad as a Oscar. Takebacks suck. We had an osprey at the dock in Key Largo that would actually wrestle you for a fish, but it wasn't 150 pounds and you could see it coming. There was nothing subtle about Oscar the osprey. He'd just crash into your chest at thirty miles an hour and then grab the fish. He'd wait 'til you got the hook out, clever *******.

Fantastic ! You have to admire an entrepreneur :)

If I ever want to cheer myself up, I go down the the waterside Fish & Chip boat, and wait till an unsuspecting tourist buys a piece of fish in paper in one hand, and a cardboard box of chips in the other.

Then the 'lead seagull' jumps on their head, startling the poor person, who promptly tries to fight the seagull out of his hair, and drops the potato chips all over the ground - and the feast begins.

I must film it for Youtube sometime.

Was up at the Lake St Clair cafe one time watching the tourists. A well trained currawong swooped down over the shoulder, grabbed the food (I think it was a sausage bun) and headed back into a tree to feed.

I was sitting *inside* eating my food - and laughing.

Then there are the (overfed) possums on Maria Island - you really don't want to leave food unguarded on the table behind you while you're using the BBQ.

A cottage we stayed in had a chipmunk - normally a shy beast - that would amble onto the dock and raid our dinner plates if we were silly enough to put them down for a moment.

The tourists here get the seagull treatment as well, and go from white bread to lobster in a very short time. Funny they don't seem to understand why the hats are for sale all up and down the beach.

Reminds me of visiting the local falconry center. Everyone was impressed by the golden eagle and the flight of the falcon but the show stealer was a saucy little kestrel which found the hats or heads of audience members handy for prey spotting.

    That seemed a bit ambitious for car-topping . .

That one is sad. I hope it is repairable.

Its wood... nothing wood is irreparable. Just depends on if the effort required is worth it and I expect in this case it is.

Right, here is another, the historic (1918 built) fishermen Botter UK 12 sank in 2009 after she was ran over by a cement tanker, one crew member died in the accident, but the Botter was lifted and restored, although the latter took 3½ years, she's 90% new now and better than ever . . .
