such is life, my Toshiba Pro C850 shat itself and is as dead as can be, model PSKC9A - 00U019 is no more...I wonder if I can recover some of the data on the HDD? - also, I wonder if the ram is shot as well? - I think I need another mouse as it seems to be passed its useby date... May that stuff RIP....... ahmen or women - I would prefer a female diety if I had to have one.
I got italics in this MSOS based machine and removed it with <Fn+I>, I wonder if the same keystrokes apply with linux mint 14? - as I had on the toshiba? - - :?: Oops not doing that now :?:

A new HP with an AMD cpu, - - wait till around May & the latest chips may be in the markets?, - - and nvidia graphics with 2G vram, a matte screen (15.6 inches), 8G ram and an hdmi port to light up my 23in led monitor, the rest is pretty well standard ?.

    - - - - - - - - - - ooo0ooo - - - - - - - - - -

Sadly, I must report that small is not necessarily what is best, - Take my backup computer, versatile - Yes - Slow and difficult to use - Yes - A lifesaver whan big brother has died - yes....

The little 'acer aspire one' is doing very well, but my fingers are becoming tangled like trying to cross all your fingers at once - well keep them untangled, to be more precise, - nearly impossible... For once I can keep up with and sometimes ahead of the curser - here I am blaming the lack of broadband in my wired connection (pigbond issue) still not fixed after the floods a month ago...

1g of ddr3 ram and an intel atom cpu is really pushing the envelope and the broadband connection is giving about standard fax speed - well it appears that way... and multitasking / multiuser capabilities - forget it... So bloody annoying with those flashy advertisements - no way to disable or remove them from the screen... poor little acorn cpu is really struggling - screw telstra/bigpond - never think of the 'bandwidth-constrained' services one is forced to accept, and still charge exorbitant fees for downloading their imposed advertising - - - greedy bathplugs....

State politics seem to be unravelling - - - In Victoria with all sorts of fun & games to come with the resignation of the Premier - - - and, West Australia has elections and the results for both are up in the air - :?: Who cares :?: modern day politics are worse than "stupid and stupider"...

Yah those drones....from an informed source Ive learned that they are presently tracking masalai's mobile phone . When Masalai makes his move , slips on his flip flops and shuffles down to the marine store to pick up a hose clamp, theyre gonna whack him. The poor buggers in the store, purchasing tins of antifoul and telling sea stories , willl become the regrettable collateral damage in this Total War on Evil.

http://www.globalresearch.ca/wall-street-banks-money-laundering-and-the-drug-trade/5324947 - - For your reading entertainment - Much of todays offering so far is too depressing

http://www.dailyreckoning.com.au/the-right-to-kill-you/2013/03/09/ "The Right to Kill You" This is hopeful and demonstrates that there is good ethics & morality standing to be counted in this world

That is all that I consider worthy of your attention at this point in time... I am severely constrained by a 1G ram in my standby computer (a diminuative but effective acer 'aspire one'), which has been called to duty because the new toshiba had a s41t moment and expired. reading lengthy documents and watching youtube is severely constrained to 15 second bursts - I continue to blame telstra (poor bandwidth), MS windows - (bloatware) for limitations - Oh and toshiba sucks...

    Sad news,
The Scrumble project in Darwin has broken up. - - http://scrumbleproject.wordpress.com/ - - He has the boat and Judith is left with the memories and blog... Boat building may be seen as a marriage wrecker... Life goes on and things change... The survivors adapt and adjust... Those with a good heart usually adjust quickly and go on to enjoy life.

Economic outlook is also confused and worrying. I pontificate here as well https://plus.google.com/u/0/stream/circles/p1458d0288d1aeaf2 To join log in - mention your boat-design avatar name in your profile so I will know who you are too...-

Very very sad - to think that they spent 10 years of blood sweat and tears to go nowhere. A family split up, a half built boat that will take YEARS and big money to finish - all in vain.

Here at BD.net we have seen this happen LOTS.
Forget about building that big condomaran for the whole family, by the time you have built it, the little kids have become teenagers and they will not go sailing. Many of the builders' wifes have never been to sea, first bit of seasickness and they never go back, and we have another "fart" alone on his boat.

For 90% of us the rule applies = go small go now. Because most of us boat on our own anyway. I have a happy family, I can go sailing when ever I can afford it (and the time off) my family are totally happy to kiss me goodbye = enjoy your trip Dad - see you next week. ;)

I think there are two distinct types of Boat Nuts.

Those nuts who love to conceive and build boats and those nuts who love to sail boats.

Personally Id rather spend 5 or 10 years sailing...., wet, cold and hungry on an inferior boat , rather than 5 or 10 years covered in goo building a dream boat .
