What would be the best way to start an outboard that has been unused for nearly a year?
I notice a couple of threads talk about fogging the engine.
Would this be advisable when starting after a long period?

    foggin?

well , get rid of all the old fuel.
sometimes the carb can GLUE. if upon getting rid of the old fuel and then trying start, andit, will not, then you may start by cleaning the carb, fun eh:))

if the fuel has not been ran out before storing start with cleaning the carbs if the fuel was ran out and this is two stroke start the engine with good fuel and a little rich on the oil 40:1 instead of 50:1 for first trip out
fuel that has set for a year that has no water in it is ok just low on octane
but when questioning the fuel just get rid of it
