Hello everyone im new to the site and jet drive boat I have a 152 donzi with jet drive just purchased end of last season serviced buffed and took first ride Saturday engine revs but boat runs like 10 mph did manage to slowly add throttle and get to 35 as soon as I gave it more throttle it would spin up to best i can describe like a clutch in a car slipping engine revs no movement .is there any kind of clutch in these things ? pulled impeller and wear ring slightly chewed edge on small curved edge of impeller wear ring looked to be new or freshly honed ? almost acts like its aerating the water any advise or help would be very much appreciated.

Post a photo of the chewed edge. If it's bad it could be causing it to cavitate. Check the clearance between the impeller and wear ring; maybe someone put on a wrong part. Check the ride plate adjustment for difficulty planing.
