    To Mr. Sponberg

I'll be finished my thesis in about months. At that time, I can post some of my results. I'm not sure I'll exactly post the results of my mast design in particular, but what I can do is post the FEA results for the mast I am comparing my design with. What I did is I made a CAD model of the mast presented in PYD, for the YD-40. I will be performing FEA analysis on this mast, assuming that this is a "good" design, and comparing these results with the results I will get for my design. In any case, if You have any questions, please let me know. Thanks for the interest.

The original comes in 3 volumes - check it out at amazon.fr - but of course in french ;) It's very good and complete, la bible de l'architecture navale pour la plaisance .. the english version is probably reduced.

Thanks for the info. I'll check that out. The thing is...the excerpts that Mr. Brian Eiland posted are in English, but still contain material that I don't have in my book. I have the second adition. I'm guessing that's why,but I'll look into that on Amazon.

Please take note that the posting of this work was done by TonyPearce from Aus who apparently paid for their english translation, and so graciously posted them for our review.

    Any ideas on this...
I'm building a small boat with a skiff style mast. Big pre-bend aussie 18 and 49'er style. Lower section Al tube upper Carbon tube. I basically Fagged the rig design ( Flat *** guess) On the tube size based on the 49'er and 18 sizes. It's a small boat not really expensive. I was just going to prototype a couple of masts. Try and tune it in. Can you think of anything to that would speed up this process.
    Thanks for any feedback.
