    Transpac

Thanks! Cool news about both boats racing again in the Transpac-that ought to be really something especially if Maserati gets her stb rudder T foil back in place.

    Transpac

Maserati has arrived on the west coast via the Panama Canal. She's about to be hauled to have the new stb rudder T-foil installed. The original was lost in a collision with a ufo on the way to the race around Malta.
The Transpac will be her first race with the complete foil system.

    Maserati

Maserati has been hauled and the new rudder and stb ama foil will soon be installed. She will then have 100% of her foil system ready for the Transpac.

Maserati's new foils for the Transpac have arrived in Richmond California: Foiling Up On Maserati http://www.pressure-drop.us/forums/showthread.php?4683-Foiling-Up-On-Maserati&p=46606#post46606

Pictures by "Photoboy" on Pressure Drop forum: right top pix and bottom picture the Manta foil(daggerboard main foil)-other foil is one of the ama UptiP foils(works like an UptiP foil)- Foil system designed by Guillaume Verdier is the most unique trimaran foil configuration ever used on a large tri and very similar to the Fire Arrow Foil System first conceived 7 years ago and tested successfully four years ago:

I suppose the way that the daggerboard foil looks (pretty rough) makes sense in the context that Guillame Verdier and the Gitana team were playing around with concepts for their Ultime foiler.

I'm not sure but that foil looks like the original main foil instead of a new one. I would imagine it would be nicely finished before its installed. Looking forward to seeing what tri will be the next one with a mainfoil!

I've been counting on it............This will be Maserati's first race with her complete foil system. And even with a third of it missing she was only 12 seconds behind Phaedo in the Caribbean 600! Phaedo has contributed tremendously to the Maserati Team in terms of helping them get faster and the Transpac is going to be fantastic no matter who wins. But I sure hope Team Maserati can pull it off!
