My son wants to build a strip plank canoe from a kit. I have seen a couple in wooden boat mag. Does anyone have any experience with any of the kits and can give recommendations for a particular company. He is far from me so I can't teach him lofting. That is why he is looking at purchasing a kit.

If he has never built in strip planking before, I hope he is a confident wood worker.

I have blogged my strip plank canoe -

there may be some worthwhile hints in it.
