Is there a bottom unit jet for a Merc 50 HP?
    Thanks, Ted

Thank you! much better info than I was finding. Just the answers were a big help. Seems like I have a suitable boat & that helps.
    Thanks again. :)

What year is your motor. I have one for a '63 to '89 short shaft that is collecting dust.

Remember you will lose about 30% of your HP with a jet, so a 50HP (prop)outboard may not be big enough to push your boat around in the way you want it to.

Yeah, I know there is a trade off there. If you google "lower San Juan River", you'll see a small, narrow waterway.. Deep pools, separated by short, tame shallows, (in the summer, our time to enjoy the river).
I just want to come back up the river to the ramp, after an outing. In my younger days, I would simply have pulled it back, as I came to them. 30-35 HP will putt me back. :)

The wife is taking a post in Kayenta, AZ., (the far side of the Moon), and the other alternative for me is a rubber ducky in the tub.:D
