Can you be more specific about what claims don't have scientific consensus?

In the past geophysicists apparently thought that the crustal plates were primarily being "pulled" towards each other at the subduction zones, like off the west coast of South America, etc. This latest research suggests that, at least at one place along the mid-Atlantic Ridge, the crustal plates are being "pushed" apart. The article suggests that more research will need to be done to determine if this "push" phenomena is typical or atypical.

Although locally very important (like in Iceland or Hawaii), the heat loss by the Earth's internal heat is trivial compared to solar irradiance.

Average heat from Sun at Earth's surface ~ 340 W/m^2

Estimated heat flow from Earth's interior to surface ~ 91.6 mW/m^2

Climate change will cause a shift in Earth's tropical rain belt — threatening water and food supply for billions, study says
    • Climate change will cause the Earth's tropical rain belt to unevenly shift in areas that cover almost two-thirds of the world
    • Over eastern Africa and the Indian Ocean the ITCZ will shift north, resulting in drought over Madagascar and flooding over southern India
    • The ITCZ will shift to the south over the eastern Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, leading to increased drought stress over Central America
The study was published in Nature Climate Change

Both actions are happening at diverse places. Since the Earth isn't getting any bigger both actions are necessary.
Both phenomena are a part of nature. "Typical or atypical" don't really apply to these.

Those things have been happening since the days of old and seem cyclical. The Old Testament even has mentioned the years of famine in Egypt.

    Genesis 41
25 And Joseph said unto Pharaoh, The dream of Pharaoh is one: God hath shewed Pharaoh what he is about to do.

26 The seven good kine are seven years; and the seven good ears are seven years: the dream is one.

27 And the seven thin and ill favoured kine that came up after them are seven years; and the seven empty ears blasted with the east wind shall be seven years of famine.

If God wills it, so shall it be.

If that is what you believe, then I am puzzled why you are so upset by this thread? This thread must, necessarily, be part of God's will. Who are you to object to God's inscrutable plans?

Of course, your objections must also be part of God's will. But then my objections to your objections must be God's will as well.

I think I'm getting rather dizzy -- which must also be God's will.... <laugh>

Science is just man's attempt to understand the mysterious ways God works. We fool ourselves into believing we know how things work because we call it science. We come up with mathematical descriptions of natural relationships like, F = G(m1m2)/R2. and then think we know why our feet stay planted on the ground, when the truth is, we aren't even sure there are feet or ground.

Joke if you must but be careful. You never know who might be listening.

I may use humor to make a point, but I am definitely not joking.

Try and remind yourself of how uncertain you are when an Africanized bee stings you.

Study: Pandemic’s cleaner air added heat to warming planet
    • Temperatures in some places in the eastern United States, Russia and China were as much as half to two-thirds of a degree F warmer
    • There was less soot and sulfate particles from car exhaust and burning coal, which normally cools the atmosphere by reflecting the sun’s heat
    • Overall, the planet was about .05 degrees F warmer for the year because the air had fewer cooling aerosols
    • The temporary warming effect from fewer particles was stronger than the effect of reduced heat-trapping carbon dioxide emissions
The study was reported in the journal Geophysical Research Letters

So you admit man's actions help cool the planet!
No wonder it's been so cold here in sunny North of Cuba!

This is an old story from the Psychology disciple, but for those of you who think AGW is a hoax, or a Socialist plot, or that there is a lack of scientific consensus, this man's experience may give you guidance and hope in scientifically proving your skepticism correct. Of course, if you're satisfied with wishful thinking or 4,000-year-old myths, then maybe this won't do much for you.
