Our Coast Guard riddles the outboards first. The chase ends very quickly.

    Hoyt,

I bet the Coast Guard won't be able to catch this latest go fast drug runner boats. Very low Equipment Number.

These boats are very inefficient and no so fast. After a certain point it's useless to add power on such limited hulls. With their small propellers and their too close proximity the outboard rob power from each other The need for a wide stern plus the weight of the engines far aft hurts the speed capacity. Autonomy is very limited.

How to stop them? Very easy, French Navy operative system in the Caribbeans, At least one patrolling plane plus one unit compound composed of 1 frigate mother boat, 1 helicopter, 1 or 2 fast overcrafts. Three warning shots. If the smuggler doesn't stop. the fourth shot is made with 0.50 machine gun with incendiary bullets in the tanks (generally gas barrels on the deck) and outboards from the helicopter. If needed some 20mm cannon salves from the overcraft to exercise the sailors.

You let burn. 1600 liters of gas burn very well. You look after combustion if someone is alive. The eventual survivors are sent in France, judged in 10 mn, and condemned to 20 years of criminal reclusion. The Colombian embassy in Paris does not even bother to see them, and just sends a translator.

Curiously, now the smugglers do stop before the first warning. Better to stay alive. Morality now the Colombian narcos have to take the families in hostage for recruiting people, as almost nobody wants to go.

The Panama way is easier; you have just to pay the tolls, and pay the gas every 400 kilometers. Only USD bank notes of 20 and 50. No credit card accepted, nor 100 USD bank notes.

The problem is to search and find them...another story, the sea is vast. The French Navy and Customs have always at least 2 planes patrolling and it seems that the narcos are renouncing to take the way of the French islands.

the 3rd outboard adds very little speed
if its a heavy dog and you need the power then you might need a 3rd one
