Sorry...Europe is infested with violent criminal gangs. Gun control is strict, Drive by shooting are rare.

"In the US The number of non-fatal firearms injuries is considerable--over 200,000 per year in the U.S. Many of these injuries require hospitalization and trauma care. A 1994 study revealed the cost per injury requiring admission to a trauma center was over $14,000. The cumulative lifetime cost in 1985 for gunshot wounds was estimated to be $911 million, with $13.4 billion in lost productivity. (Mock et al, 1994)"

They can get them from burglary or other illegal means but pistols would be hard to find as well as military type weapons.
Gangs are not that many and most are raided by police with the thought of an illegal gun ownership.
In NZ it’s a similar gun law to Australia and the slight thought to police you had a pistol in your house you would be surrounded by the police armed defenders squad ready to kill.

Its the same here. I have this mornings paper in front of me.
Last week the local police went after a North African drug gang. On the front page of the newspaper is a police department picture of the cocaine, knifes , handguns and bullets that were confiscated. This picture is important. It sends the message to citizens that guns are illegal and that the police are always working to remove them from society

BB gun scare brings out the big guns

An armed offenders callout was sparked after a 16-year-old was seen walking down a rural road wearing combat clothing and carrying a BB gun in Masterton.
Police Senior Sergeant Carolyn Watson said a member of the public reported the youth with a firearm around 7pm on Saturday, on Te Whiti Rd, about 1km from Lees Pakaraka Rd.
The boy had not been firing it, Ms Watson said. He was located at his home, where he told police he had just been walking home from eeling.
"People need to be aware that if they're walking down the road with what looks like a firearm they are going to attract the attention of the public and police," said Ms Watson.
It is the third time in a month the armed offenders squad has been called out for what turned out to be an imitation or BB gun.
On October 26, a Masterton teenager with a plastic gun sparked an armed police call-out and cordon after he was seen brandishing the toy at motorists.
Three days later, Wellington's armed offenders squad was alerted to a report of a firearm being discharged in Masterton. The weapon turned out to be a BB gun.
A 36-year-old man was charged with unlawfully discharging a firearm.

And yet, we have never had a time when people did not want to emigrate and come to America, bringing their talents and leaving behind the things that drove them to leave the lands of their collective birth. For all its faults, I would not trade America for any place else on Earth.

"Give me your tired, your poor,
    Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free;
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore,
    Send these, the homeless,
    Tempest-tossed to me
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Just make sure the proper paperwork has been completed.

    Ok...I agree.

Vigilance is always required. A member of the public spotted something that didnt look right and reporded it to the police. For that young guy with a bbgun he learned an important lesson. People dont like to be intimdated by public displays of firemans.

I dont know what my local restrictions are for air guns. I see them in sporting shops. Ive never seen one in public.

not long ago I wanted to purchase a powerful Laser Flare for my saftey at sea kit . This is a very powerful laser availble over the counter in the US. Locally it is prohibited because it is considered offensive

I wonder if they've outlawed slingshots and spud guns yet. And don't even think about wielding bows and arrows... wonder how much time you can get there for walking down the road wearing green tights and carrying a quarterstaff?:)

Well of course we all know its not up to USA standards but a BB could take your eye out,

We are aware that no one would bat an eye lid if one was to have a nuclear armed missile strung over your shoulder in Toys R us but thats the point, other countries of a more civilized and less fanatical society are more sensitive to these things.

I think im right in saying that in Uk you have to kill 3 people to be awarded the title of a serial killer where as in USA its much more difficult. One has to kill 7 people to have that title.

The first 6 of course are not able to be mentioned due to another constitutional right so as not to mislead the jury because of prior crime/ murder.

I do believe that the gun used for the crimes can not be admissable evidence if the gun was found in an area that permission was not asked for to search. Such as a random search in the car and one was found in the glove box.

Its easy to remember this stuff because it just so so so so silly.

Your your own worst enemy USA is a joke.

America will take decades to get back to the country it aspires to and thinks it is, it would be quicker to nuke it and let them re group. Like Japan
