The Alumaweld isn't a kit boat ? Anyway, it looks to be more suited to sheltered waters, I would say you would be battered into submission pretty quickly in a hard chop.

Fishing 4 people in a boat, comfortably, you do need room, and I would think at least 18 feet, with a 60 hp outboard you are more or less limited to panga-style boats.

Alumaweld makes many different designs for different conditions.

The first boat he was interested in can't be reproduced without very specialized equipment, plus they're relatively thin.

Alumaweld, and the many similar boat brands in this part of the country, are built from sheets of aluminum and welded. The design is relatively easy to build, and easy to modify as required.

Alumaweld builds some of the most popular guide boats in the region, with more and less deadrise depending on the type of fishing.

You can get an open or windshield design.

No they aren't a kit, but copying some of the design is pretty straight forward when you have all the pics and dimensions given to you. It also let's you visualize the many possibilities and options for a design.

Nothing tests trailer boats out like wide, wind-swept shallow bays and estuaries, offshore is frequently much kinder, I would say a comfortable riding boat for those conditions, that will accommodate 4 fishermen aboard, powered by a 60 hp outboard, is a big essay.

I know, here we can only dream with offshore fishing center consoles with triple outboards.

Here's a typical fishing guide boat

Normally they go fishing with 2/3 fishermen plus the guide.

But I don't want to buy a fiberglass Panga , they are horrendous jaja yet they are cheap and comfortable. Call me a mad man but I prefer to build my own boat ( also as a tribute to my father cause he loved boat designing and building and he had a dream to build one with me )

Please do keep us updated with your progress Ozmy - you could keep this thread going with updates, and then it will be a nice history of the design and construction of your boat.
We are all very keen on following your progress. Including your decision re if you will build a monohull or catamaran.

I think the toughest part of the specification, is the 4 people aboard, that does up the ante beyond what a 60 hp outboard is going to be enough for, I think. With 2 fishos aboard, it becomes a lot more manageable, you can go to a smaller boat, that could still handle conditions well.
